In January of 1949 a small group of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas employees came together to organize a credit union. This group of employees had a vision of providing a safe place to save money and obtain loans at fair rates.
From a modest start more than 65 years ago as Blue Cross Texas Federal Credit Union, our organization has grown through sound financial management and responsive, personal member care and service.
Over the last 10 years we have more than doubled our assets and modernized our delivery of services. Today our members, regardless of location, enjoy 24/7 access to their accounts and our services including online banking and loan processing, mobile access, remote deposit and more.
In November 2016 we changed our name to Lifetime Federal Credit Union (“LFCU”) to reflect a broader membership base and to communicate the credit union’s vision of serving our members for all stages of their lives.
In October 2017 the Group Service Employees Federal Credit Union, which served the employees of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma, merged with LFCU.
LFCU is aggressive in offering competitive rates, products and services. And unlike a bank or finance company, our goal is not to accumulate profits. We are here to serve our members. After expenses are paid and reserves are set aside, income is returned to our members in the form of competitive dividend rates, interest rates and other services.
